If you want to shrink how your belly looks, this is Posternak’s list of 5 tips to flatten your stomach permanently.

1. Cycling Calories

Tips To Flatten Your Stomach Permanently

Most people when trying to lose weight follow a continuous restriction of calories. In this way, you would eat the same amount of calories below your maintenance which leads to fat loss. For example, you would eat 500 calories fewer every day compared to your maintenance.

Cycling calories would be a more flexible eating habit in which you can eat more calories on some days and less calories on others to achieve a calorie deficit over time.

Once you understand calorie cycling, you can make your diet more enjoyable, convenient and sustainable.

2. Get Lean, Stay Lean

Don’t be afraid to not eat every once in a while. Being in a caloric deficit and losing weight does not necessarily mean you will be losing muscle mass.

Meal frequency, for the most part, is not a factor when it comes to burning fat and building muscle. The old idea of having to eat every couple of hours to maintain your metabolism high has long been busted.

If you want to build muscle, Posternak advises having at least two meals a day and, provided you eat the correct macros, that should suffice.

3. Accept and Master Hunger

To flatten your stomach permanently, you need to understand hunger, accept it and master it. Unfortunately, hunger cannot be completely avoided if you are on a diet to lose weight and burn fat.

Hunger, while burning fat, is completely normal. What you don’t want is to be starving. Have an eating habit that satisfies your hunger with single-ingredient food that is healthy. If you eat every time you are hungry, depending on what you are snacking, there is a chance you will be getting back to your calorie maintenance and won’t be burning as much fat as you are hoping to achieve.

4. Pavlonian Conditioning

Much of the hunger you feel is associated with certain activities and ideas, this is known as Pavlonian conditioning. You might associate watching TV, reading a book, or boredom with eating food.

By breaking these habits for just a few weeks it will help your body adapt and the condition hunger responses will subside – just know the first few days will be more difficult than usual.

5. Getting Stronger

If you believe that doing endless cardio will help you get leaner, you are mistaken. Sure, cardio will increase the calories you burn, but in the long run, it is getting stronger which will help you stay lean and have a flattened stomach.

That is because the stronger you are, the more your body needs energy to sustain itself – so you will be burning more calories passively if you are getting stronger and stronger with each week. Sod o yourself a favour and add resistance training to your routine if you want to flatten your stomach permanently.
